About Underground Clothing

In the late 90’s, when great fashion brands were hard to find, fashion entrepreneurs needed a radically different way to bring Calgarians the labels they love. Underground longed for a simple way to share denim and clothing trends that were popular around the world. No other store offered as large a selection of popular fashion as Underground desired in an easy to find location.

So began Underground Clothing, a multi brand clothing store. 

Beginning as a men’s only retailer and now including both men’s and women’s fashion, Underground's first store was located in South Centre in Calgary, Alberta. Today, Underground serves it clients from a bricks and mortar store in CrossIron Mills and online at undergroundclothing.ca . Underground carries a curated selection of brands for the individual that is searching for trendy and practical clothing. From companies as popular as Wanakome, Dex, Brunette the Label, Mavi, and many emerging Canadian labels, Underground Clothing celebrates our love for clothing and the brands that design the most unique and trendy pieces. We are Calgarian, we love clothes and we love helping you find the fashion you love and are comfortable.

 Underground Clothing is locally created, organized and owned. Underground aims to provide an easy to navigate shopping experience that gives all Canadians and Calgarians an equal opportunity to purchase, own and wear hard to reach and hard to find clothing trends. Our Team 

Sharlene McBride:  Sharlene has had a passion for retail fashion since she was a young girl where she grew up in Winnipeg, MB. Before Underground,  Sharlene worked as a Regional Manager of a major national retailer -directing stores across Canada from Ontario to BC. Sharlene is a proud Mom and Dog Mom, she loves to spend time being active with her family and is always on the hunt for new brands and unique fashions to bring to Underground. She is the architect of our collections and is in charge of Buying.  She also directs our advertising and social media. 

John Stiles:  John was born into retail pharmacy in Southern Alberta. He has a pharmacy degree and spent 20 years in that field. Now, nearly 20 years into the fashion business he looks after Finance, and IT for Underground. John loves yoga and golfing in the summer and spends lots of time with his family staying active with his grandkids.
